David L. Strickland, or "Supe" as his radio listeners and close friends call him, is an accomplished radio broadcaster, voice over artist, actor on television, theater stage and movies as well as a musician (piano and drums), puppeteer and writer. Born and raised in Alabama by his retired Army sergeant father and Japanese mother, Dave is the youngest of 7 children and born without a shy bone in his body. He loved movies, radio and theater from the start. He developed a creative imagination with the help of movies like "Star Wars", "Superman", "Star Trek" (both the TV show and movies), and shows like "Six Million Dollar Man", "Knight Rider", "Fantasy Island". Dave also loved radio and the "theater of the mind" it showcased through shows like "Tales of the Unexplainable" and creative radio commercials that laid the groundwork for his career pursuits.Another factor that contributed to his pursuit in the fantasy realm of acting and radio was the death of his father in 1984 while Dave was turning 15 and heading into his freshman year in high school which had a profound impact on the rest of his life. This set the tone for Dave's pursuit of his passions. Upon graduation from high school, Dave auditioned for and won a drama scholarship at the local community college even though he had no acting experience. He majored in broadcast communications and music. During his two years of college, Dave played keyboards in a band with his best friends and acted in college plays, further developing his passion for the arts. After learning that there was a new radio station starting up in his community Dave produced his own "aircheck" and sent it into the station and secured his first job in radio. From there he quickly rose through the ranks with his creative passion for voicing and writing and became an award winning writer, producer and voice talent. At this time, Dave was also co-writing, producing and acting in a local christian television show for kids as well as acting in community theater. In 2000, upon accomplishing all the goals he set for himself in his career to that point, Dave was then offered a radio job in New York to host a morning show and take over as creative services director, so he packed up and moved from Alabama to New York in the fall of 2000.In 2003, Dave started his own independent voice production company and by 2005 he left radio and started working for himself full-time - free to pursue his passions for auditioning for movies, television and voice work. Dave has been heard on nationally aired radio commercials across the US and Alaska and in 2010 became the voice of nationally syndicated TV morning show "The Daily Buzz" co-hosted by best friend Mitch English.
