Swapping dance shoes for her soccer cleats at 12 years old, Dana soon found her way into local musicals and dance companies. Her professional musical theatre debut (at 16) was at the San Diego Civic Light Opera in a hit production of 42nd Street. Dana moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA, but not before auditioning for the Laker Girls. An unfortunate fall in the Forum resulted in a severely sprained ankle (and an interview with a British news outlet), which got her thinking more about acting. As a Mass Communications major, in a very competitive program, Dana honed her skills and business savvy while still doing musical theatre off-campus. Her summer at the La Jolla Playhouse Summer Conservatory was a turning point. Apprenticing to Bill Irwin provided Dana an 'inkling' of a possible career, and her first real training. The next summer, she was accepted into the British American Drama Academy at Oxford University. Here, she had her 'aha' moment - realizing she was definitely going to be an actor, and deciding that New York City would be her home after graduation. While in NYC, Dana made a turn from musical theatre to film. Within the indie film community, she also found herself producing short films, the last one of which ended up at the Berlin Film Festival. Working as a Sundance Film Festival volunteer ultimately led her to acting coach Susan Batson, who took her craft to the next level. In 2002, Dana found her way back to LA, and soon began what has become a successful career in voiceover. Theatre is still her first love, and her current theatre homes are the award-winning Rogue Machine Theatre and The Road Theatre Company.Dana Lyn Baron resides with her husband in Los Angeles.
