Courtney was always the class clown and the ""crazy"" one of the group. However, no one, not even this former laboratory scientist, believed she would be sharing that ''gift'' and gracing the stages of renowned comedy clubs.Originally from Washington, D.C., Courtney moved to Los Angeles after obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Clark Atlanta University and a 2nd Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She was working in L.A. doing cancer research when she was reminded of performing as a child. Courtney was either in dance recitals or plays and always using her quick-witted, animated behavior. So, she decided to exercise her funny bone and hasn't looked back since. Courtney's past jobs, including being a substitute teacher, make great material. She also discusses her East coast upbringing, adventures in dating, and overall observations of life. Her charming and energetic stage persona allows her to hit the stage with confidence, gaining acclaim and notoriety as a professional stand-up comedian, and she shows no signs of slowing down.GQ (Gentleman's Quarterly) Magazine named Courtney "The Next Big Thing" in its March 2003 Hollywood Issue. Comedian J. Anthony Brown, owner and operator of The J Spot Comedy Club in Los Angeles, California, honored her with the Spotlight Award for Outstanding Performance & Contribution to the Comedy Industry in May 2009 just a year after starting her stand up career. Courtney performs at The Comedy Store, the Ontario and Hollywood Improvs, Flappers, The Laugh Factory, The Ice House, as well as many other venues in and around Los Angeles County. She even performed in Africa. Courtney also HOSTS several comedy shows and charity events. Thru comedy Courtney hopes to see much more of the world and make them laugh.Courtney has appeared in several national commercials including 7-UP, Sony PlayStation2, and most recently Ford.
