Saul played Caesar at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith in the 2005 RSC production of Julius Caesar.During 2006 he played The Knight and The Merchant in Greg Doran, Jonathan Munby and Rebecca Gatward's production, for the RSC, of The Canterbury Tales which played at Stratford, on tour and at The Gielgud Theatre London.2007 saw Saul playing Brabantio in Raz Shaw's production of Othello at The Salisbury Playhouse; Danforth in Patrick Mason's production of The Crucible at The Abbey, Dublin and Corin in Sam West's production of As You Like It at The Crucible, Sheffield.In 2008, he appeared at the Devonshire Park Theatre playing Alfred in a new fourhander, Killing Faith, directed by Tony Milner, which kicked off the new Eastbourne Season, followed by Polonius and the First Gravedigger in The Stafford Shakespeare Festival production of Hamlet, directed by Bill Buckhurst with Joseph Milson playing Hamlet.In 2009, he played Arthur Birling on the National Tour of An Inspector Calls.Previously, Saul appeared in Jonathan Kent's production of Oedipus at The Royal National Theatre, starring Ralph Fiennes and Alan Howard. This production finished January 2009.In October, 2010, Saul was at the Salisbury Playhouse playing the Headmaster in Jamie Glover's production of John Mortimer's Voyage Round My Father. Other theatre work that year included the central role of Mr Lovely in My Balloon Beats Your Astronaut by Kerry Hood and directed by Elly Green at The Tristan Bates Theatre and On Racing Hill by Anthony Milner at The Brighton Dome directed by Tony Milner.
