First acting success in Australia while in his teens in the long-running comedy "On Our Selection". Emigrated to the United States in 1923, toured with song and dance act "Bertram And Raymond". During WW2 he managed and played in a USO company of "Ten Little Indians", touring the European combat zone; performed the same postwar in Japan, and Far East in "You Can't Take It With You". Sent to France in 1950 as correspondent for a chain of New England radio stations, and became a resident of Nice. While there, had a featured role with Audrey Hepburn in "How To Steal A Million". Moved to Hampton Bays, Long Island, writing "East End Wanderings" for the L.I. News Review. Retired in 1981. His scrapbook collection resides in the 'Billy Rose' collection at the New York Library of the Performing Arts (Lincoln Center). Honoured by the Acting Academy of America for contributions to the Theatre. Show less «
