Ben Parrillo is an actor, writer and filmmaker living in the seaside artist community of Venice Beach, California.Originally from Boston, Ben began acting in his early years at Wesleyan University where he studied not only Theater but also History, Italian, and Cinema.After a post collegiate stint living in Europe, Ben headed to Los Angeles where he carved out a career as a television, film and commercial actor. Ben's most recent television appearances include Criminal Minds, Vegas, Law & Order, CSI: NY, and the new ABC pilot Delerium. On the big screen Ben recently starred in the 2012 AFI International Film Festival short film, Coming Home, portraying an astronaut coping with the mundanity of earth life after a euphoric outer space adventure. Also in 2012, Oscar winning director Kathryn Bigelow cast Ben to pilot the stealth helicopter that flew Seal Team Six to kill Osama bin Laden in the Academy Award nominated film, Zero Dark Thirty.In addition to his on-camera work, Ben is a talented writer/director/filmmaker. Ben's short films Jolly Good Fellow and A Moron, A Loser and A Coffee Shop were official selections of both the Cardiff Film Festival in Wales, United Kingdom and The Other Venice Film Festival in Venice, California.Ben's writing tackles a wide range of subjects. Ben's feature script, Power Of The Drum, explores the power of human will to overcome obstacles not thought possible. In Crime Of Punishment, Ben examines the social burden of the death penalty and the country's recession proof prison industry. In his one hour drama, Inside, Ben pits the country's growing medical fraud fiasco against the Chicago mob and Al Qaeda's long forgotten sleeper cells.Finally, in Bed Of Nails, Ben sets up the epic portrayal of our national identity crisis through the white collar ambitions of a Boston building contractor.
