Behrooz Afrakhan an accomplished and award-winning broadcaster/filmmaker has spent over two decades working in film production, global news and sports programming. His degree in TV-Film is from Columbia College-Hollywood. Afrakhan began his career in Los Angeles at KVEA (Channel 52), the Telemundo flagship station. His diversified positions included stage manager, video tape supervisor and cameraman/editor as well as producing daily Mexico World Cup soccer segments for the evening news. His involvement has continued with the quadrennial sports spectacle to this day which has included working as segment and highlights producer for more than 40 live international telecasts and the related pre/post-game shows for the Univision network.Afrakhan has announced more than 150 international soccer games including World Cup soccer qualifying matches for Fox Soccer Channel. In addition, he provided unprecedented play-by-play broadcasts and analysis in two different languages, including the significant first time Farsi SAP telecasts. Behrooz Afrakhan has written, produced and hosted for several broadcast companies, traveling extensively and reporting on international sporting events throughout Asia and Europe. During his career in broadcasting, Afrakhan has built an archive library of more than 220 hours of international tournaments' coverage and interviews.His other global assignments include exclusive TV coverage of World Championship Wrestling at Madison Square Garden in 2003, organizing an LA Galaxy international match in 2006 and participation in organizing the UCLA SoccerTennis tournament. Afrakhan reported on the historic 2007 FIVB Youth World Tournament in Mexico. He plans to make an upcoming documentary using exclusive videos gathered during his coverage. As an independent producer and collaborator in a number of sports programs, Afrakhan has received accolades including the Ficts Special Award from the International Sport Movies & TV Festival. Afrakhan has supervised the multi-media production and promotional campaign of the 2010 Royce Hall Tribute honoring director Reza Badiyi, "the Godfather of American TV" and DGA award-winner for directing the most number of TV series including 420+ episodes of "Mission Impossible," "Hawaii Five-O,"Baretta," "Star Trek" and "Baywatch," among many others.Afrakhan has written and directed "Pedal Around the World for Peace" which received the "Mention D'Honneur" diploma from the Milan Sports Festival. The production featured a cameo appearance by the international super-star Behrouz Vossoughi as the voice of Cyrus the Great.
