Aramis Merlin is a German born actor. After stepping on stage for the first time, performing plays such as "The Three Penny Opera" and Aristophanes' "The Birds", Aramis wanted more. So after graduating from high school he began to study acting at an acting school in Hamburg, Germany. He still wanted more. With the mindset of "How could I be satisfied with the small pond, if I know that there is an ocean out there" he took his chance and moved to Hollywood, Los Angeles, to elevate his career to another level. He studied with some of America's best teachers at the Art of Acting Studio LA/Stella Adler Studio NY and at the Taylor School of Acting with award winning teacher Alex Taylor, one of the few teachers who was selected by Sanford Meisner himself, to pass his technique on to following generations. For a small period of time Aramis even attended 2 full time acting programs at the same time, taking classes in the morning and in the evening. After graduating Aramis starred as the lead in many productions of Los Angeles' best film academies, in independent films and acquired some high profile voice over jobs. But hold on. We left a whole part of the story out. An essential one. Because Aramis' journey to acting is a quite unusual one. It is a story of a martial artist, opera singer, bodybuilder and composer from a small village in northern Germany who landed in Hollywood pursuing his acting career.Aramis started his artistic career as an opera singer. Starting as a baritone, he soon transitioned to the rare voice type called "Countertenor", a male alto/soprano, and gave his debut with the Hamburg State Opera at 17 years old. He continued his career, winning the 1st prize at the national German young musicians competition, and singing his first lead role in "Der Räuber Hotzenplotz" as "Der Räuber Hotzenplotz" himself, at the Hamburg State Opera. Astonished and sometimes with a bit of confusion and shock, the audience stared at this young man with the physique of a Greek God, singing with the voice of a professional female opera singer. He loved nothing more than seeing the audiences different reactions after the first note sounded from his vocal chords. Aramis speaks 4 languages and has acquired a professional level in opera, musical theatre, piano, composing, martial arts and stunt work. Show less «
