Anika Reitman

When Anika was born her father went to a psychic. Anika's older sister developed autism at the age of two and her father, hoping for answers, went to a psychic to ask about the fate of his second child. She told him that this one would be an actress. Whether or not you believe in psychics, this little old lady pinned the nail on the donkey that is Anika's life. Anika grew up right outside of Minneapolis. There she began acting at the age of 11 in regional theatre and has performed at the Guthrie theatre, Children's Theatre and more. In 2008 she moved to New York City to train at The William Esper Acting Conservatory where she graduated from their intensive program in 2010. Los Angeles is now her home where she works as an actress, model, stand up comedian and writer. She studies improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade theatre and performs stand up as well. She is passionate about musical theatre and is a trained dancer with a mezzo soprano vocal range. Standing tall at 5'10", she also models. Recently, she's worked with MAC Cosmetics and shot Frank Riz's Milano Purse Campaign, featured in Italian Vogue. Anika's favorite filmmaker is David Lynch in part because she learned Transcendental Meditation after reading and being influenced by his book: Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness and Creativity.
