Born and raised in Kuwait, then later moved to Canada, Amera spent the greater part of her childhood watching movies and quickly fell in love with the art form. Her favorite past time would later evolve into her life's mission. Amera's passion for movies grew into a burning desire to act. Her driving purpose was to make people feel the way she felt in those moments and allow them to reconnect with a part of themselves that had long been forgotten.Fierce, passionate, and highly intelligent. She represents characters that are wise beyond their years, yet also dark and vulnerable. She's the girl next door with an insidiousness lurking beneath the surface. A cross between a young Natalie Portman and Angelina Jolie (Girl Interrupted). She's perfect for smart, rebellious, misunderstood characters that have a lot to say but can't seem to find the right words.Amera's training includes 3 years in Niagara College's Acting for Film and Television program and a year of scene study classes with Daniel Kash (Aliens, Mama, Lucky Number Slevin, The Tuxedo, Orphan Black, L.A Complex) at Cinespace Studios. Also, she continuously studies with Matthew Harrison of Vancouver's Actors Foundry and has studied with David Rotenberg of The Professional Actors Lab and Lewis Baumander of Lewis Baumander Acting Studio. She continues to hone her skills at the Toronto Actors Practice on a weekly basis. Some of her credits include Alien Mysteries and Beyblade: Metal Fusion, in which she voices the lead role of Tithi, the legendary blader. She also recently shot an internet PSA, directed by Alan Powell, about elder abuse. Furthermore, her voice can be heard on an episode of CBC radio show The Current. Her past credits include: Alive In Section H, produced by Brock University, Rogue, produced by Lexion Productions, and Faithless, a script she wrote and starred in, which went on to win Niagara College's 2011 Graffiti award for Best Short Film.
