Alison McKenzie was born in Tweed Heads, New South Wales, Australia. She is the daughter of Victoria McKenzie, a hairdresser of Filipino heritage and Spanish descent, and Wallace McKenzie, an Australian-born businessman. She is one of four children, having one brother, and two elder half-siblings.Alison's first feature film role was cast as Amy Dwyer in The Contents (2013), directed by Shane Krause, but the role was recast after she moved to Shanghai, China to complete her studies.After returning to Australia, Alison continued to pursue her acting career appearing in musical theatre productions at The Arts Centre Gold Coast including Miss Saigon (2015) as Gigi. Alison has also appeared in The Drowsy Chaperone (2014) as the Drowsy Chaperone, FAME (2012) as Camen Diaz, Cats (2009) as Grizabella, HAIR (2008) as Dionne, Annie Get Your Gun (2008) as Annie Oakley, and West Side Story (2006) as Anita.She has also appeared in nation- and state-wide television commercials with Suncorp (2015) and Golden Casket (2017).Alison graduated from Bond University in Robina, Queensland, Australia with a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce. Shortly after, she was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and High Court of Australia in 2012.
